That's got to be frustrating. Maybe you could send a letter to the president of your local RE board and get a copy from that person--then compare the two lists. The local list might be easier to read. Sort of a back-door approach :-) but it might work.

My state isn't listed on the list either so I wouldn't have anything to compare it to. The frustrating part was that I was told by the AR Real Estate Board that they couldn't interpret the information for me...in other words they couldn't put it in simplified terms and it was up to me to make my own interpretation.

Thanks DeAnna, thats what I like about this forum, you guys are "always" on the ball. This is good information even if you not a REVA, who knows where ones path will lead them and having this information on hand will come in handy. Thank again.

va4ever: You might want to try going to www.findlaw.com to see if they have a simpler list. Also, if your state has legal aid, they may be able to help you.

Before I made the decision to become a REVA someone mentioned that I should get a RE License, then someone else mentioned that a realtor might not want to work with a VA that has a real estate license because the realtor might view this person as a potential threat.

Leila5:
I didn't think about that angle. Maybe it wouldn't matter that much if the realtor was located in a different part of the country than you were.

So to get around that you get a license in your state and then work for a RE agent in another state. Not sure how the law interprets that but I live in NM and work for an agent in Texas. They don't feel even slightly threatened by me. License or not. They are just thankful for the help.

That makes a lot of sense but why not just get certified as a REVA?

I was just pointing that out as an alternative if you'd rather get a full fledged real estate license and were concerned about local agents feeling threatened by you.

Great link. I work for a real estate development company and love it. It's good to know what work I can perform.
