Question Licensed Real Estate Virtual Assistants
I am looking into this area and have read lots of really great information. I see where people have talked about certified/ uncertified and what a licensed/ unlicensed REVA can/ cannot do. I live in California and would like to know if licensing is even an option and if so how/ where/ who? I have read many posts and googled, but I am obviously not looking in the right places. So, hopefully there's someone out there that can help me.

Hi Charlotte,

I'm in California and not licensed or certified. I've never been asked about certifications, and as far as I know, it hasn't deterred anyone from using my service.

As far as being a licensed Agent, there isn't much that I can't do. I do not discuss numbers or terms with clients, I utilize services like Docusign so that my clients don't have to meet with their clients multiple times, and a lot of what I do includes marketing their listings properly, maintaining their client database, stuff like that.

Hope this helps!

Thank you April, that did help a lot, not worrying if a license is needed or wanted!

Hi Charlotte,
I have been on both ends of this, and it's not truly beneficial to you to be licensed unless you are working in an office for an agent and they want you to handle the buyers. Most agents aren't giving those up now though. The only other benefit is you can discuss numbers if the agent wants you to, but honestly the clients prefer to discuss numbers with the agents anyway.
