Default Got REPA Certified, Now what?
Hello Ladies and Gents,

I recently got REPA certified and I am eager to get started working. I need a little help. Can any of you give me an idea of where to start? I was thinking of putting together some packets to drop offf at local agencies. I would like to know what info I should include.

I think I need to be a little more specific. REPA or REVA is a new service that I have added to my list of services. I recently received certification through the National Association of Realtors (NAR). This is an industry that I know I would definitely enjoy being a part of. I have even thought of becoming an agent myself. Working as a REVA will allow me to get to know the business a bit more before taking the leap.

I am seeking advice as to any specific types of literature I could include in the packets I intend to distribute to Brokers and Agents. I would also like to develop a simple form letter introducing people in the RE field to the concept of a REVA. That in particular is what I am really seeking assistance with.

What has worked for you? What was your approach to attracting clients? Do you have any letters or other ideas you are willing to share?

Thanks!

Hi Nicole,

I've worked with real estate agents in the past, that is actually how I got started as a VA. At one point I had 12 clients - all local REMAX agents.

Here is what I learned: Make sure you talk about how you can help make their lives easier, how they can spend more time with clients, less on paperwork/computer/follow up. Some of them are use to having an assistant, some want one but don't think they can afford it, some don't know what an assistant can do for them.

If your sales letter focuses on you - you've lost their attention. They don't have a lot of time, so whatever you write, make sure it is straight to the point and tells them what the immediate benefit is to having an assistant.

The way I was able to get the majority of my clients was by going to the local RE/MAX and asking if I could speak at the next meeting. I brought donuts and flyers, and spoke for 10 minutes. I would occasionally go back to touch base with clients, and usually ended up spending a few hours because everyone wanted to meet with me and discuss what they needed.

Good luck!
Candy

I have been in the Real Estate Industry for about 14 years and was an Administrator in a Real Estate Office for 11. Started VAS about 1 1/2 ago and have not been very successful. I have a website, have gone as well to office meetings and at the present time I have 2 very limited clients - only 1 being a Real Estate agent. Sent out emails, etc., any suggestions!!

Thank you,
Tina

Thanks! Your reply was very helpful. There are two firms in my area that hold weekly opportunity meetings. They usually have their current agents come in and speak to the prospects. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to see if I coud speak with the agents for five or ten minutes before or after the meetings? The meeting are usually in the evenings around seven. Or should I try for a morning meeting?

Hi Nicole, when I first started out as a VA I got my REPA certification as well. It didn't really do anything for me because of my geographic location at the time. Don't forget to add your REPA cert logo to your website

In addition to having a website to "attract" clients, you also need to probably go out and "find" them since some of your abilities could most definitely help local RE pros in addition to virtual ones. I would suggest having a customer information packet that incorporates all the information a prospective client would need to know about you before they partner with you.

This packet can include a welcome letter, your profile, listing of services, fee schedule, client questionnaire, testimonials, etc.

As Candy points out, make the letter NOT about you, but how you could help them with their business and solve their problems.

Good luck!
