Default eMarketing a RE agent's site
Hello!

I have a prospective RE client who needs help raising his website's page rank. I need to know if there are places to make sure he is getting backlinks from, perhaps industry sites?

He is on Facebook and Twitter although he isn't using them right. He is on Merchant Circle and Manta but hasn't developed them. He is also on YouTube and Flickr. ETA: He has an account on Active Rain, which I'm not familiar with. He has no posts on it. Does AR need to be a separate blog or can it be linked to your current blog? He has a blog on his site, not Wordpress, and he hasn't blogged since November.

Are there any must-have sites he's missing?

I can respond to the Active Rain question as I have used this before.

Active Rain is a separate blog with extraordinarily good ranking. I would suggest that the profile be updated with links back to all of your client's sites. What would greatly improve ranking is fresh blog content on Active Rain which will consistently comes up in the search engines.

Good content with backlinks to good sites will help raise rank on all the sites you mentioned. It is not enough to just sign up for a multitude of sites.

Hopefully, he's working with you on updating those sites he already has and concentrating on targeting his market with good info.

Janine

Thank you for the input. Yes he wants my help updating all those sites he's already on. Is it true though that the Active Rain blog isn't public for free, you have to pay for that feature? He sounded like he didn't want to pay for it.

Also is it ok to gear the Active Rain blog towards buyers?

As far as I know Active Rain has a free basic account. The paid account has more benefits but there is a basic, paid version.

Check out the website for more info http://www.ActiveRain.com

Yes, I am sure you can gear the blog toward buyers if that is the market he wants to reach. Take a look at the Active Rain blogs and see what other write which will give you a good assessment of what people are reading. Sign onto the Active Rain newsletter.
