Default Contracts
Do your clients sign a confidentiality contract? Or do any of you have sort of agreement? If so do you have an example of one that I can look at?

Hi Tricia, I'm not a REVA but your question applies to general business development, I think - so I wanted to direct you to the section on Virtual Assistant Contracts here at VAF. I'm sure you'll find lots of information and suggestions there that will help answer your question.

There's also a forum on General Legal Issues where you might find an answer to your question.

And you can also use the SEARCH link in the top-right of the main menu to bring up existing threads specifically related to your question(s).

I hope that helps!

A confidentially agreement is part of my client contract. You are welcome to look at or use any portion of my contract. You can find a copy on my website at: http://vrsioffice.com/images/VRSI-Agreement6b.pdf.

Best of Luck,
Julie

Yes, I always include a simple confidentiality agreement with my contract.

Julie, thank you for sharing your contract. Mine included many of the points covered, but not in such detail.

Julie~ thank you, thank you!!!!! You are so helpful.

April, I was only planning on having "just" a confidentiality agreement, so you have a contract in addition to a confidentiality agreement huh? I was hoping to get my REVA business running by the first of the year but, its turning out I have much more to learn in actually RUNNING the business.

Tricia, you may want to start subcontracting for other more experience REVA's. There is a LOT to learn, and most VA's learn the most by working closely with other REVA's. You need a contract in place in addition to a confidentiality agreement that states what you are doing for your client, what the pay rate is, what is included, what's not included, the length of the contract, etc. You can purchase pre-made contracts from many sources and I believe there are some in the documents library here as well.

A lot of work goes into building a VA business!

Thanks April, Yeah I'm glad I have the experience in the actual work it's self or I'd really feel overloaded. My husband thinks I'm putting to much thought into this for just starting; but I disagree I want to be professional with every aspect of the business, I'm looking forward to making this a huge career move for me.

Thanks again for the advice.

Experience is crucial when it comes to working with Real Estate Agents! And no, you're not putting too much thought or work into it; most of us put in months of work before ever working with clients.
