Default Can you tell me about REVAs?
During this economy how are all REVAs doing with their business? Are things still up or should I look into a different niche? My husband and I have been discussing to go into business together and he focus on certain aspects of the business and I focus on other aspects of the business. We are both interestede in VBA and REVA and I have done my research on VBA. Can anyone tell me more about REVAs?

Some helpful links for researching:

REVA Network
Realtor.com
Realtor.org They offer training here.

You should be able to get an idea of how the economy has affected the real estate business nationwide. This will also help you in researching different states.

I'm leaning toward REVA as my niche. I'm wondering if realty firms or independent realtors are more likely to use VA's?

Thanks for the links...I'll check them out!

Hi,

I spent some time today trying to figure out how to get certified as a REVA or PREVA, but just wasn't getting the right info. Is this something you get trained for, or can you just say you are one??

Hi Tess,

Start with your local state laws. Being a REVA for realtors, investors and brokers is what you are looking at. Visit the realtor.org site and you will find Real Estate Assistant training as well the rules and regs for most states. It is always best to do as much research as possible when considering a niche such as REVA.

I hope that helps.
Andrea

I have been a real estate VA for quite a few years. August 2009 was the busiest August since I began my business, both in adding new clients as well as income. All that said, the real estate business for me the past year has been targeted more towards helping REO and short sale agents.

I find real estate agents to want their VA to be "ready and trained". If you don't have a real estate background, I would recommend you sub for an experienced VA. As someone already mentioned, there are rules/regulations for what an unlicensed real estate assistant can and can not do. These vary by state.

Best wishes!
