Question Brokerage Office Hierachy - Help In Understanding Please
Good morning!

I have quick question for all of you REVAs out there. I am in the process of preparing to contact various real estate offices in my area. My question is, is the person responsible for all o the agents the 'broker' or am I getting confused. I essentially want to know who I should b targeting my marketing efforts towards.

Thanks so much!

Hi Lidia,

While I am not a REVA, I did work in the Real Estate industry. From my experience and what I have seen, there can be both a broker and a manager for the real estate office. If you want to be sure you are sending your information to the person that is going to the decision maker, you may want to just give the offices a call and ask who is in charge (this is also a great way to establish a dialogue).

Where I worked, there was one broker, one manager and one owner! They each thought they were in charge Unfortunately, sometimes the answer isn't going to be so cut and dry!

Those are just my thoughts and I am sure a REVA or two will jump in here and give you more information to go on.

Good luck!

It may be different depending on the company. I worked for RE/MAX and the owner/broker of the franchise was the one who made all of the decisions. Under him he had an office manager who was basically second in command but he signed off on EVERYTHING, but that might be partly because that is just who he is.

The other brokerage I worked for there was a manager, she wasn't even the broker, she was basically the office manager and she would be the one to make the decisions. So a phone call might be in order because the structure might be different for different companies.

From what I know about real estate, it usually is the broker that is responsible for all of the agents. You should make a phone call to confirm this.

I felt really odd about calling up, getting the 'gate keeper' and asking for the name of the Broker/Office Manager. I feel like the receptionist is going to say 'Who wants to know?".

Ok, tomorrow is dutch courage day.......will be making my calls......wish me luck!

If you are targeting realtor offices I would go to their websites first and it usually gives a list of all the agents in their office as well as manager and broker.
