Am I a REVA?

I am just now really starting to call myself a VA, even though I've actually been doing some of this work for years.

I entered into a working relationship with my former landlord a few years ago, and I was wondering if what I did for him qualifies me to say I do have REVA experience, and if I'm lacking anything of importance in that arena:

Here's what I did for him in my role as his "Marketing Consultant:"

• Created a web site with rotating listings of available properties for sale, rent, and rent to own.

• Listed all properties at online classified sites (he listed them in newspapers).

• Took photos of and created fliers for each property; kept the fliers stocked.

• Maintained voice mail system with lines for each property.

• Scheduled meetings with interested parties and showed them each property myself.

No, not really. A REVA has experience entering properties into the MLS, is familiar with how to value property, is familiar with real estate contracts and addendums. There is much more to being a REVA than what you have listed here.

Serita is correct. And when you work closely with realtors, you'll need to have a full understanding of the jargon that they use, the programs that are standard to the industry, and the process that is taken from obtaining a listing to closing escrow. Listing a property for sale is far more complex than one that is for rent, and agents expect their VA to know it all.

It sounds to me as though you have a good foundation to build upon though. Serita offers a class that can teach you to become a REVA, you can look into working with property managers, or subcontracting for a more established REVA.
