Default Advice
Hello everyone,
My husband and I are looking for a house. I contacted a real estate agent about a listing I saw online. In my email, I have my business information. He looked at my website and in his response, he asked what a virtual assistant was. I explained what we do and how we operate. Now he wants to talk to me about a job. I am a little nervous since I have no real estate experience at all.
Any advice or tips? Or is it something that I should let the Professional REVAs handle and refer him to someone else?

Thank You,
Amy

I think it depends on what he wants you to do... I'd talk to him and find out what projects he has in mind and if they're something you can do, go for it. If you can do most but not all, perhaps outsource the part you're not comfortable with. Or, if you don't think any of it is up your alley, refer him to someone else.

I agree with Amanda. It will not hurt to sit down with him and see what his thoughts are. He may become a great client!

I think you should go for it since most of what you'll probably be doing will be along the lines of general admin or something you can probably pick up fairly quickly. Just be careful, though, there are things that you can't legally do if you're not licensed. I'm still trying to figure out where the line is myself and I'm not sure if their's a special REVA license that you need or if you actually have to have a real estate license.

He will likely have general things that they want you to do or he might be willing to train you on certain software that realtors use which could increase your market and include more realtors if you like the way that they work. Way to network though.

I think since he looked at your website already and wants to speak with you that is great. He came to you see what he needs help with and go from there.

AMY,

Go for it & see what he may want you to do. Then you can decide if you need to refer him to someone else. You never know, this may be a great client for you. I hope it works out for you.
