Default What to Charge for a Proposal?
One of my clients would like to know how much I would charge for a response to an RFP? She may be in for an amazing opportunity and I'm thinking it will be three or four pages tops.

any suggestions? what's the going rate on this kind of thing?

Thanks for your help!

I think I would charge hourly initially - whenever I receive a request for a task that is new to me I always invoice hourly. This gives me a good measuring stick against how much work was involved and how long it takes which in turn allows me to decide if it makes more sense to charge per-project the next time around. Honestly though, I end up charging hourly from then on anyway because these projects, especially where writing is involved, often take on a life of their own and the scope-creep can vary wildly.

Sounds like an interesting project to be working on - enjoy!

Thanks Tess! I did end up charging hourly based on three hours to begin with.

I appreciate your input! I'm still new at this but this is a client I wrote web content for. She was really happy with it so i'm hoping I do just as well with this next project! So nerve racking!
