I am looking for help on ideas on what rates to charge clients in my new va business. If anyone out there can give me a some ideas on how much to charge and if its a good idea to create pricing packages for clients.

Thanks.

Hello Ivette,

It is against policy to put up rates. With that said, you should check out other VA websites, see if they are offering the types of services you are offering.

Research rates by going to their websites and looking at their years of experience and their testimonials.

It will take you a bit of research to come up with a figure that will allow you to make a decent income for your area.

Also, if there are any VA's in your state, you can see what the average rate is by visiting their sites.

I hope that was helpful Good luck.
Andrea~

There are also several links to rate calculators here on the forum that will help you determine if your rate is a sufficient income for your expenses. Try searching 'calculators' here on the forum.

A lot of sites put rates on their websites. I checked different sites in my area, made myself a chart and compared all their rates. It's actually easy, just time-consuming. Good luck!

I think it's an excellent idea to create packages for your clients. I don't think it's a good idea to put your rates on your website.

I agree that figuring out the rates for your business takes a lot of research and should also be based on your experience and the services you offer.

Good luck

Setting rates is something I am struggling with as I have never been paid at what I understand the going rate is. And although I know I am underselling myself with such thoughts, it will still take some time for me to wrap my mind around it. I'm glad you suggested checking out other sites in my state as that will be a great way to check into what I have read and put my mind at ease about what I decide to charge.

Hi
Another good way to do this is to work backwards from a standard salary for a regular office assistant doing what you offer.
Good luck.
