Default Virtual Assistant Rates on the West Coast
This might be a strange question, but could some of my West Coast (California, etc) VA colleagues shed some light on the range of rates for VA's on the West Coast?

Thank you!

Andrea

Hi Andrea,
Very interesting question. While I don't have any data relative to specific geographic location(s), this article and this previous thread might interest you.

We don't encourage direct discussion of rates and prices for services on the forums as this *may be* mistaken for price fixing - a very serious offense. For more info on average rates, etc. please refer to the links above.

I charge $XX per hour. Not in CA but am west coast. I also give discounts for retainer packages.

Wow, I'm in San Diego and was only going to charge $XX hr. Perhaps I should rethink to about $XX hr.

Your rate should be based on your skill, experience, and service offerings NOT on your location!

Thanks for cleaning up after us, Tess

I used a combo of the rate calculator, comparison to other similar service VAs and my experience level to determine a reasonable rate to charge my clients. I am actually in the middle of the pack for bookkeeping rate structure, but it works for now.

To find other VA rates, I researched the internet for VA websites and VA forums.

Remember, as a virtual assistant, we can work anywhere so geographic location really shouldn't enter into our rate structures.
