You know we often feel we should be grateful a job since we work at home. I've learned since looking at these boards just how low my rates are. I think I need a raise as well!

As I was reading through, one thought came to mind. I am located in the Midwest, our rates here are less than either coast. I have been getting some referrals from the coasts. Do you set your rates for the coasts or the region you are from?

Is it better to have a flat "national" rate?

Thanks for sharing the wonderful article. I agree with Carol that we owe it to ourselfs and the industry to raise our rates. I know for me personally it was hard (and sometimes still is) to charge "that much" for only doing that? In other words...paying myself what I'm worth. It was hard for me to get used to the idea when I was first starting that someone would be willing to pay me for creating a simple flyer that took me less than 20 minutes.
