Default Pricing
Hello all

Maybe it is too soon to ask and I know it is forbidden to talk about rates but I really need some help here, since income is the reason to start a business.

You see in my country there are only few call centers registered and I strongly believe that what they do is totally different service or maybe just a small part of Virtual Assisting. So I have to figure on my own how much I will charge for an hour of work.

Should I go with private sector salary cut in hourly rates or should I go with public sector? You see there is a huge gasp there. Basic salary on Private Sector is about 40% down of the Public Sector. (i.e. a firstly employed secretary on the town hall will receive a salary of 1000 euros per month, on a company will receive something like 600 euros…)

Thank you in advance for your responses!

Default Re: Pricing
Hi Netta, I don't think you can compare what you might charge with what a call center pays it's employees. I don't know what the situation is in Greece in terms of minimum wage, etc. but as a business owner you have to pay for your own health care, taxes, etc. (things ordinarily handled by an employer, at least to a degree) so with that in mind, I would suggest starting by finding out what an in-house administrative assistant is paid (on average) in your country and then start doing the calculations to determine how much you need to charge to cover all of your expenses and make a profit as a business owner.

You could also check the web for websites of VAs who offer the same services you do, to help you determine a range.

I hope that helps

There are some resources you might find helpfu

Ty very much Tess! That is what i will do! Every minute i discover a new treasure in VAF making me more confident on my choice to work as a VA.

My major problem atm is I cant find any resources of what is going on in my country on these matters ( not sure that is listed as a profession yet or how they have it listed) and I really need to find some ppl who know these things well so I will avoid unpleasant surprices when i will start working
