Default originally saw it here...
Sometime this week I saw a reference to an accounting software package that someone recommended which can be downloaded for free and I think it tracked hours too. It might be two different things I'm running together - I can't recall for sure. Now I can't find the info I jotted down AND I can't find the post. Can someone please help me?

Thanks,

Sundi

P.S. Did you know we have a 'search' feature? It's up in the main menu, toward the right, just click 'search' and enter your term(s) or you can choose advanced search.

But do let me know if that's not the thread you were referring to.

Tee Hee! No, this isn't it but this one was helpful. I also hadn't noticed the search feature so thanks for that too. The one I'm thinking of mentioned a free accounting download and the hours tracking was a side note. I'll use the search tool to see if I can find it.

Make it a great day!

I'm not sure what all you're looking for in an accounting program but quickbooks has a free edition which you can see here.

FYI - QuickBooks Simple Start is basically a checkbook on steroids. It's worth buying a better version (if you don't have Vista, I would suggest hitting e-bay for QB 2005 Pro)

Hmmm ... I agree that Simple Start may not be a Peachtree or Quickbooks Pro as such but it is a great "start" for VAs just starting out or are on a limited budget or just need the basics for now. It's better to have something rather than nothing, especially if it's from a reputable company and is FREE. I have the Pro on one computer and the Simple Start on another and find the Simple Start meets my personal and business needs. But then, of course, I don't offer bookkeeping or accounting services.

I've never been on eBay before but will give it a look see since so many people on this and other forums have written about the good deals they found.

Well, since I don't plan on offering bookkeeping (I can't stand to do my own let alone someone elses!) and my favorite word is *FREE* I'll check it out!

Thanks for the suggestion!

Make it a great day!
