Default Invoicing? Contracts? Billing options?
Does anyone have any insight on how to do invoicing? Do you use a contract that needs to be signed by client? If so, are there any templates for this? Also, what kind of options in the way of billing do you offer? Contracted? Retainer? Hourly? etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirsten

Hello Kirsten,

It would be better for you to use those keywords, Invoicing and Contract, in the search box and you will find a plethora of information to help you.

Good luck~
Andrea

Kirsten, you definitly need a contract signed by you and your client. There are threads available in the forum that will help you decide what needs to be in a contract. Once you reach 50 posts, you will have access to the Documents Library and samples of contracts. Best of luck in your new business endeavor.

Hi Kirsten!

When you have at least 50 posts (I believe it's 50), you're able to access the document library under the link called Features. In that section, there are so many templates from which to choose. So, in the meantime, I would soak up info, take notes and post/comment as much as you can. Then, at 50 posts, resources are available to you and you'll LOVE what you see.

Good luck! :-)

Kirsten,

Until you reach those 50 posts (which I am trying to get to also. ) you can use docstoc.com. They have lots of templates you can use.

As for invoices, I use QuickBooks Pro. It is awesome! I am starting to do bookkeeping for my clients, which is a popular interest in my area. If you can afford it, the software definitely saves a lot of retyping and manual calculations down the road.

If not, docstoc.com probably has templates for invoices too.

Hope this helps!

Search Microsoft Templates at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...s/default.aspx

As for accounting software, if you do not have the money for Quickbooks at the moment Microsoft Office Accounting works really well for businesses like us (no inventory, employees...) This program is actually included with most of the Microsoft Suites. If you have one of their more recent suites look to see if their was a second cd or download. On the second download there is also Business Contact manager for Outlook that should look into as well. It is a great contact and project manager and it works well with the accounting program.
