I have been reading some of the discussions on her about online payments and wondered if anyone had used Freshbooks?

I noticed another (UK) Va used it when I was doing some research so I wondered if anyone had any reviews about it?

It all looks fairly good but obviously the proof is in the using of it!

Yes been using it for almost a year and love it. I have it linked to my Paypal account so clients can pay with their credit card if they wish and it works really well.

Is it a complete package, ie. you can do all your invoicing and collecting payments from there? For example, can I still use it for an invoice that needed to be sent snail mail and paid by cheque or does everything have to be electronic?

Yes, you can print off and post (or purchase stamps and they send for you!)

I just signed up with Freshbooks a couple of weeks ago and so far have only entered expenses into it. I don't have a client yet so can't comment on the invoicing but it looks well laid out and easy to use.

I have been using it for a few months now and love its ease of use for both me and my clients. It tracks payment and you can run reports on your client payment history. Like Bridie, I have it linked to my PayPal account so payment by credit card is a snap. I don't use the tracking feature as I do this manually but the timer functionality is pretty good. I also like the presentation of my invoices. I am happy to recommend it based on my experience.
