Question Billing for Virtual Receptionist services?
Hi,
I have just taken on a new client , and the first part of the job she has asked me to do help her with is to take messages for her while she is away for a week.
How does everyone usually bill for this? I was thinking of just keeping a log of the time spent taking calls throughout the week, but am interested if anyone else has some other ideas??

Luckily she ended up going away before I started with her, so haven't had to wing it just yet, but atleast next time she wants to take a small break, I will be well informed of the process.

I will do this for my clients as an added service although I do not offer it as a service. Most times it is just to check voice mail and address any pressing issues. For this I charge my normal rates and keep track of the time. However, it is mostly check at 8am, noon and 4 pm so there are set times involved.

Thanks for the reply post Lee. Good to know regarding checking it at set times, and also charging the normal rate. This forum has helped me incredibly.

I would suggest a flat fee. That way its all done.

I agree too. A flat fee. Just base it around the hours of service you will provide.
