Question Article: The Subtle Effects of Pricing on the Mentality of Clients
From the article:
"Most freelancers hate dealing with pricing. We would rather focus on what we do best, and as a result, pricing sometimes doesn’t get enough thought and attention.
Pricing obviously has a huge impact on how much money we make, but what about its affect on potential clients?"

Continues on with specific points and supporting information - a reminder not to underprice your services! Not sure why it's not always a good idea to be the 'best/cheapest deal in town'? Click here to read the full article.

Have you seen firsthand the impact price has on a client's perception of the quality and/or value of your services? Was it a positive or a negative? How did you handle the situation?

Great article, very informative. I have even read an article similar to this one about pricing and it stated that sometimes too many cheap prices or discounted services sometimes scream that you are desperate for a sale. Which may not look good to possible clients.

Some potential clients want cheap services, where they can get a whole lot of work done for cheap. If many VA's value their business and are confident in the services that they provide, being cheap or too cheap, may not be the way to go, just to make a sale or keep a client. You just have to judge for yourself.

Great article! I kept reading some of the other articles on the site, and found them very useful. Funny one on top 10 ways to know you charge too little!

I have had several prospects tell me my pricing was too high - that they could get the same services - overseas - much cheaper and if I wanted the job, it would have to be at around $2 per hour!
OF course, I chalked it up to them being idiots - but I find the perception is that we can charge less because our overhead is so low.

Thoughts?
