Thanks for the reply ... and I just thought I would add a little bit more about what I want as I don't think my original message is that clear.
I have also worked in recruitment too in the past and have recruited candidates directly from college (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, etc.,) as well as from industry - so I know the groundwork I have to cover.
My main query is - because I don't offer HR/Recruiting as a service as such - I am not sure how those who do charge for it operate. In addition, my client is US based and I am based in Europe so the way things work there may be different to here because of location.
I am trying to figure out if people normally charge by the hour (and an approximate figure would be a real help (it doesn't have to be specific if you are uncomfortable posting that kind of information publicly)? Or do they charge on a per project basis? Or do they charge (as their fee) a percentage of the salary offered to the successful candidate? Is HR/Recruiting billed differently, for example, in the US as compared with general admin or similar?
I hope that's a bit clearer ... and all help very much appreciated.
