Default Send extra-large media files securely, online - FREE
With size limitations on most email accounts it can be difficult to get those really large files back and forth to clients - when you've got a video file or a heavy presentation to send or receive regular email usually just isn't going to work - there is a free option that will allow you to send those giant files (up to 100 MB) via a secure online portal (there are paid options as well allowing you to send up to 2GB!).

Just enter the recipient email, upload the file and click 'send' and your client will receive an email with a link to download the file; avoiding long and messy email traffic jams!

Check out You Send It here.

Default Re: FREE - send extra-large files online
I just wanted to update this thread with two new options I've found that allow 200MB and 500MB file transfers for free, this is a great way to manage clients who work with gigantic media files...

Driveway allows up to 500MB and is incredibly easy to use.

HotShare allows us to 200MB and is also quick and easy.

Tess, Thank you for those suggestions. That helps with my problem on how clients are going to send me large files of pictures. The real estate agents will be sending me lots of pictures of houses for the web sites and marketing materials of their listings. Most of the agents I know use their company email address or free ones. Both are equally bad for large files.

Glad to know you found something you can use right away!

My two cents on FTP clients: I use (and love and wouldn't trade for the world) Cute FTP - and it's not very expensive at all...$60 for the professional version ($40 for the home version, though I've never tried that one so don't know what the difference is).

I can speak to the reliability and ease of yousendit. I used it at my last position with no trouble at all. Our end users loved it.

Make it a great day!

Another FTP you might want to check out is Filezilla which is a free open source FTP software. It's fairly simple to operate. I've been using it for awhile and haven't had any problems with it.
