Default Project/Task Management
I've gone through all the past threads in regards to this.

Am I the only VA having issues finding something that works? My clients give me both daily tasks and longer projects. I am finding that most project management type systems only allow for setting up large projects which would work for maybe 50% of my work.

Can anyone recommend something that may work. I swear I've tried them ALL I think.

I also need somewhere clients can login and assign me work. Email is killing me!

Have you tried Central Desktop or Action Method Online? Central allows you to have different workspaces for each client and is great for sharing documents. AMO is better for actual task management and discussions for each project. Both allow you to create profiles for your clients (or colleagues) that allow them to comment, load documents, assign tasks, etc.

Aceproject.com is an online program I tried out, but didn't stick with it. I liked it okay though. But I am using Office 2010 now w/BCM. It allows tasks and long term projects.

Sorry, to hear that. I didn't use it that long. Primarily because the FREE version only allowed so much and the one thing I hate about all the online things is that you have to upload your documents and that's a royal pain if you want to manage everything in one place.

So I am using dropbox for sharing and storage, and Outlook with BCM for project management.

Have you tried ClientSpot at myclientspot.com? It's a collaboration software where you assign each client their own work space so they can't look at other client's work in progress. You can check on all your team members' progress in their different assignments, and assign to team members new projects. You set up the access rights for each team member in your company (if you have multiple VAs working with you). It also allows for tracking time against the project or other tasks within the software. The client can upload assignments, leave you instructions or notes, and download the completed task/project from within their workspace.

We're using this online software and finding it very good.

We're also using AceProject and TRELLO for internal projects, but not where you need client collaboration.

Hi Dani, I use Teamwork PM and highly recommend it. I've used Basecamp, Central Desktop and Client Spot and still prefer Teamwork. You can track projects, tasks, issues, risks, give client's access to their workspace, track time on tasks, upload files and more.
Happy New Year!

Thanks ladies...I think that I am going to look into Teamwork and Client Spot; those both sound like they would work for me.

Try myIntervals. http://www.myintervals.com/pm/intervals.php. I love their software. I have tried almost ALL the Project Management software programs out there and I have found myIntervals to be the best choice for the VA industry. They have a lot of features at a reasonable price. I love their reporting and invoicing features. (Note: to save money, use the "project" feature for each client (one project per client) and the tasks feature to to set-up projects/tasks for each client.)
