Question Project Management Software
Hi Everyone,

As I continue to grow my biz, and retain larger clients with a greater scale of projects, needs, and tracking, what application would you recommend? I think it would be important to be able to assign projects/tasks to my IC's, have permissions based lists, jobs, and functions, as well as different areas for different clients.

I am interested in FREE versus fee based programs.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,

Susan

Susan, did you have any luck in finding project management software? I personally feel that though MS Project is very costly, I like how it integrates with MS Outlook which you can assign resources and add tasks and notify via email.

It may also help if you work with an individual who has MS project and then determine the cost of an individual doing what you are looking for and produce weekly reports for you versus buying the software.

I currently use BaseCamp (www.basecamphq.com) and love it. They do offer a free version of their software for limited users and projects. I used ClientSpot (www.myclientspot.com) in the past and it too was a great program. I decided to switch because at that time the reliability of team/company messages wasn't great.

You may want to check out Google Apps, with their "sites" feature you can create an Intranet of sorts and create your PM system. Another option may be MS Sharepoint.

I am going to check those two out Becki. I utilize Sharepoint at work with also past experience in Clarity also which is a great pm tool utilizing time entry, risks, issues to name a few.

I did a quick google and will look more into it but here is a software review comparison.

My business has recently exploded so I am on the lookout for the best option as well. At this time I am using Officezilla. It's free and has everything I need right now. I may look into something more complex and customizable once I am ready to sub or hire help.

Thank you for your response. I am not familiar with MS Project though. I know I must continue the hunt.

I have seen both, but not "dove in" too deeply yet. I guess I was really hoping for a free application, but that may not be possible if I want/need something multi-faceted and effective.

Thank you!!

Sue
