I've used LogMeIn and GoToMyPC for remote access. Logmein worked fine for a while. I live out in the country and have to use Hughes Net satellite for as my high speed internet provider. About a year ago Logmein became incompatible with Hughes net and I had to switch to GoToMyPC. It was a hassle to switch but works just fine.

I haven't tried either one yet, but for file sharing I just set up folders on my website that each client can access, with or without a password and we upload and download from there. Doesn't cost a thing.
It's pretty easy to ftp that way. Just a thought!

I've always loved GoToMyPC... my preference for ease of use.

I have used LogMeIn for YEARS. Back when I used to work in the IT world it was priceless.

It works great with PC or Mac and offers a ton of flexibility and security you can trust.

For work with clients, I generally have them create an account and let them decide to use the paid of free, and then my associates just access their account. That way the client is in full control of their security.

I use BOTH LogMeIn Pro and Dropbox. I find them both to be invaluable.

Another advantage of the Pro account over the free account is the ability to remote print. If I am logged onto a clients machine with a Pro account, I can print a copy of the file I am working on to my computer. This comes in handy if you are preforming accounting functions and need to print checks locally.

To overcome the lack of file transfer in the free account you use the LogMeIn free account in conjunction with Dropbox. You just have an extra step to transfer a file utilizing this method. You would need to access the client's computer with LogMeIn then place the file you want to transfer into the client's Dropbox within a folder that is shared with your Dropbox. Then you can access the file on your computer(s).

Best of Luck

I recently became aware of another service called ElephantDrive that offers online storage.
