Default How do your clients submit their tasks?
Hi All,

I was just wondering what process you follow in terms of how your clients submit tasks to you.

Currently I have my email info@ and nicole@ and generally my longer term clients email me directly to nicole and those who are new email me to info@. This is working ok, but now my client base is really starting to expand, I wanted to create a more streamlined approach.

I was thinking of creating an email account and have all my clients email tasks directly to this, which I think will work well.

But I did want to ask how everyone else does this.

Cheers
Nicole

This software program was posted in another link. If you install it on your webpage server, you can add a customer portal to your website. You can give your customers a login and password to create tasks. It is easy to install and begin working with.

Nicole,

Currently my clients email the items they would like assistance with. However, as my client base continues to grow, I am thinking of moving to a project management system like Basecamp, Clientspot or Central Desktop.

Robyn, Project Pier is actually something that seems pretty neat. I am creating a new business website and wonder if/how I can integrate that with it..my new site is Wordpress based. Thanks for sharing the information.

When I setup Project Pier on my website, all I did to intergrate is create a hyper link to the login screen. If your customer as a login and password ( setup by you) then they can access this area. I like how it is setup and best of all, it is free.

Nice, I can probably add the hyperlink in the sidebar or navigation menu.

I like your idea of tasks@. It is simple for them to learn to use and become a habit. I think the Project Pier is a neat program as well. How computer savvy are your clients will be the real answer to your question here

Wow - what a timely thread. I was just wondering the same. My first client (only one yet) has been calling me to discuss new projects and then we begin a back and forth to get details and deliverables before I create the agreement.

Although, this has worked ok now, I can see how it could be problematic as my business grows. Of course, I want to still talk to my clients but this method is consuming quite a bit of unpaid time on my part.

I am going to check out Project Pier as I am not sure emails back and forth are going to be the answer either.

Thank you everyone for sharing your ideas and thought - VAF is so great!

Here are three I narrowed down to. All are free. I am currently trying out opengoo. I was trying Officezilla and not thrilled, but its not completely out of the game yet.

Project management/online offices:

http://www.projectpier.org/

As I think someone already mentioned, it depends a lot on the clients buying into the system.

Best of luck to all!

Thanks Robyn! Project Pier is something that I've been looking for. I don't have any clients as yet, but I, too, was trying to figure out the best way for clients to submit work. My website is hosted by Godaddy so I hope it works with that.

Hi All,

Thanks everyone for all your comments. Robyn that Project Pier is a great idea! I will investigate that, I am sure my clients would get used to it.

I am thinking tasks@ might do to start with as it will ensure everything is delivered to the one spot.

Cheers
Nic
