Default Fog Creek Co Pilot
Has anyone ever used this? My husband has a few times and I just did with a client for my first time. It's so easy. For only $5 for a 24-hour period, you can have access to a client's computer to help them out (with their approval). You can do a two-minute free trial.

Let me know what you all think. My client thought I was a miracle worker being able to take control of her computer and show her a few things.

I've never used this before.

I use LogMeIn with some of my clients. It's a free program that allows remote access as well.

I took a look at the website and from first glance I like that it can be used without installing anything.

I can see where it would be beneficial if you just needed one time access to the PC to show a client something and didn't need ongoing access or daily access. This is probably a more comfortable options for some people.

GoToMyPC also offers a 30 day free trial, but you have to download and install something to use it.

When you use it, are you the only one that can control the PC at that time or can the client also try things out while you can see what they are doing?

You can also do a monthly subscription at a reasonable cost if it's something you'd use much. It does allow the client to try things also while you watch. We attended a seminar last year by the guy who started this. Very, very likable and knowledgeable.

What a wonderful resource for me, Sue. I've looked at similar services, but couldn't justify paying their monthly fee. Fog Creek's day pass option is brilliant to capture business from people like us who would use the service intermittently.

I have a realtor client with two assistants who, combined, have little more than a basic knowledge of computers and software. Their office is only five miles away, but this service will allow me help them, bill them...and stay dressed in my way-casual home office attire.

On top of that, someone's there on weekends, and Fog Creek is FREE on weekends. Vewy, vewy, cool!

Yeah, I liked the free on weekends part too. Though I usually don't work on weekends, it's good to know it's there. The monthly subscription is only $19.95 so if you're going to use it more than 4 times in a month, it's the way to go. My client yesterday thought it was very cool!
