Default Anyone familiar with HyperOffice?
I'm considering HyperOffice and am wondering if anyone is familiar with it. It is a collaborative desktop that has a hyperdrive to share files with clients. I really like this feature because there is no need to re-upload the files. I also like the shared calendar features. It does come with a cost though.

Any veteran VA's out there that can comment on the necessity?

Thanks!

Jen,
I wish I could tell you first hand, but I always google reviews before buying software. This was the first one and it only has a 1 out of 5 ratio of users who liked it. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1954150,00.asp

I hope that helps. I have also seen lots of commercials about that http://mozy.com/ It's file backups, but I will try it out and see if it's file sharing securely too.

Thanks for the info. I was so excited about it that I forgot to research reviews...and I after checking it out, I'm back to the drawing board again. I'll take a look at mozy and of course other's that are mentioned on the forum. I'm not in a big rush because right now email works fine, but I want to have another option.

Jen

I recently participated in a teleseminar about hyperoffice. I didn't read the review, but from several people I talked to, they love hyperoffice and can't say enough good things about it. I don't have any personal experience with it though, except for the webinar.

Hi Jen. I thought it was funny that you were so excited you forgot to search for reviews. I've been there. Allow me to help you out with HyperOffice, as I am one who chose to use it and am aware of some resources.

I'm a HyperOffice user and am very happen with the decision to use it. You're right that the file sharing is a great feature. It's wonderfully useful. As is the shared calendars feature you mentioned. All-in-all, I love being able to access and share this information from anywhere, as can my clients.

My suggestion is give it a free trial or sit-in on one of their webinars. Personally, I'm more of a hands-on learner and did the trial. Really, you can do this with any vendor you're considering, and if you have the time, do trials with your top 2 or 3 companies. Nearly all will give you a free trial, usually up to a month!

Also, you'll notice the PCMag review is 3 years old and based one 1 reader review. That makes it a bit irrelevant in my opinion.

You have a great website, BTW.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and opinions. I have attended their webinar and just though I'd get a little insight before doing the free trial. It's good to hear from someone who is actually using it right now.
Thanks again!

Thanks Jen for posting your question. I'm now in the market for a similar program for document sharing and calendar sharing and will begin looking at different options. My ony concern is the client is a mac user and I am not.

Just an FYI - Mozy is only back up, not doc sharing. I just thought I'd check into it though ya know? Good luck with everything!
