I've been looking at getting some promo items to hand out at networking events. What do y'all think of these? Is the tag line too corny? I thought this was a cute, since I'm a bookkeeper.

Hey I like it Rebecka! It's relevant to your business, it's something that people will use and I'm assuming it's small enough to slip in their pocket or compendium? It will get a good reaction as being something different. I know when I go to events I am sooooo over stress balls (even though I love them), keyring torches and just all the same stuff that keeps turning up. If they are going to keep this with them or at their desks, you will have a better chance they will think of you when they need help. I like it - but I'm a corny kinda person anyway! :cool:

Oh I LOVE these - I would definitely want a pink one LOL.
They are functional and not at all a throw-away gizmo and I really like the tagline, the tie in to your services, and the whole idea!

I just did a search on calculators to be used as a unique business card for a client of mine (an accountant - we're looking at doing those flat calculators that are thin like credit cards). There are alot of sites out there offering these types of things - do some comparison shopping so you get the best price. I saw huge differences in pricing from one site to the next for exactly the same products.

This is great idea to keep your name and contact information right at people's fingertips. I know I'm personally always looking for a calculator. Good idea and great job on the tagline!

Thank you for your opinions. I've been going back and forth over this for months because I couldn't figure out what to get, but then I saw these and liked them right away. I used to get tons of stuff from vendors... I couldn't even count the number of cheap pens and magnet calendars I've thrown away over the years. Now that I know y'all wouldn't throw them away I'm going to get them... I don't have enough money to be throwing it away yet. LOL

Personally, I'm partial to the blue, but I'm boring and am going with the black, but I found some nice fat pens to go with them and they are metallic blue with a black rubber grip on them. These are my favorite kind due to arthritis and what I think is carpal tunnel setting in now. LOL

My logo colors are black and blue. I deal with a lot of real estate investors and contractors and I was trying to think.. what do they carry with them all the time. A pen and a calculator!!

Since your logo colors are black and blue, you might want to consider going with a color other than black for the calculator. You don't want any of the black type to blend into the background. Maybe pick a brighter color that the black/blue combo will show up on better.

The other thing to consider as well is some of the people you'll be giving the calculators to are men. I know I went back and forth forever on my logo and website because I'm definitely a girly girl but would've felt funny handing over a pink business card or something too feminine to a prospective client who happens to be male. A guy might not want to carry around a calculator that's too bright or too feminine. I sold Mary Kay products at one time and everything I did was pink, pink, pink and as girly as I could make it! That was ok because of the product I sold and my target market, but now pink wouldn't work for me. I target restaurants, bars and banquet centers for alot of my advertising and a majority of the business owners are male.

But I'd love a pink calculator too!

Ooooh I just had another idea for a giveaway for you. For the contractors, why don't you buy a box of those flat contractor's pencils with your contact info? Something like these:

A million years ago I used to sell construction accounting software (ok, actually it was only 5 years ago, but it seems SOOOOOO long ago) and I used to give those out. Those guys LOVED them! They aren't too expensive, plus I used to get a huge box of them that would last awhile. You could give the contractors a calculator and a pencil. They love these things because they don't roll away and they can sharpen them with their pocket knives.
