Default Ideas for a Flyer and/or Brochure???
Hi Everyone,

I am trying to put together a Flyer and/or Brochure that I can send out in hopes of bringing in some clients. My only problem is that I am stumped and hoping that others can give me a few suggestions. Or even if someone has a sample that they could fwd me so that I can get somewhat of an idea I would reatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi Stephanie,

My flyer is very basic. Business name and contact information. I customize it to who I am marketing to at that particular time. If it is going out to attorney's offices, I note I have 25+ years experience in the legal field. It if is going out to doctor's offices, I note I have experience in medical billing, etc. For my brochure, I go into more depth on the servides I offer and keep it more general so I can hand it out at networking events. I use the verbage from my website for my brochure. Hope this helps!

Stephanie,

If you have MS Publisher, I would start there. This program has a lot of great templates. Find a template you like (maybe one that is similar in theme to your website) and just fill in the content. You can use some of the same content which you utilized on your website. Additionally you may want to put in some tips about Human Resources. (Similar to the info you were considering putting in your blog.) After you have the file looking and sounding the way you like, then you can either print it at home or take it to a professional printer.

Another option is Vista Print. http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/welcome...v=welcome&rd=2. They have great deals and several templates on business cards, brochures, postcards, etc. They are reasonable priced and produce a nice product. (Note: Be careful in the check-out process so you do not accidentally order something you really do not want or need. They offer several "up sells" when checking out.)

Additionally, when mailing out marketing material, I have found postcards to be the best option for the money. They are the cheapest to mail (only $0.28) and there is no envelope to stuff. I believe I have read on another forum that Vista Print will mail-merge your postcards if you provide them a list. This way you do not have to attach labels. Also you can do a mail-merge in Publisher and place the addresses on the postcards during initial printing.

Best of Luck,
Julie

Hi

I agree, a lot depends on the clients you are sending to. For example florists might be more creative, whereas attorneys more professional.

I recommend too if you are mailing a flyer to also send a professional letter. It just worked for me. Just gave me more opportunity to promote myself.

I also used postcards that I got from VistaPrints.

Hope this helps!

A question on the use of postcards...do you all use regular sized postcards for mailing or the larger sized ones? I have found on several occasions with a previous business I worked for that regular sized postcards never made it to their intended recipient...lost in the vortex of the USPS I guess. Thoughts?
