Chamber Flyer
I have been given the opportunity to place a flyer into my local Chamber's monthly mailing....for free! Free is my favorite word.
Anyhow, I have until the 28th to get them 900 copies of my flyer, and frankly, I'm coming up blank as far as what exactly I want to say on this flyer.
I was hoping maybe you all could give me some ideas. I'd like to try to stay away from saying something about the bad economy because I don't want to depress people, unless I can find a way to say that with a more positive slant.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Chamber Flyer
How about explaining what a virtual assistant is, the process of where one works, and how one can save money? Then offer suggestions how one can assist the current staff on projects (i.e. answer phones during staff meetings or special events, coordinate office gatherings, create databases, etc.), or how someone who is a sole proprietor and only needs help a few hours a week, etc. Make sure to list all the software you know and advise that the list keeps growing.

Re: Chamber Flyer
How about something like "Can't afford to hire employees right now? Then you should look into a Virtual Assistant!" Go into explaining what a VA is - couple of sentences, then list the services you offer. I would keep the flyer simple and easy to read - not too text heavy because then the reader won't want to read it. Think of a one page flyer as an ad for a magazine. Then put your contact info on the bottom. I would come up with a cool graphic for it if you are going to use this as a title - you can always use money - most people relate to seeing money as the graphic. Especially nowadays. That is my two cents opinion

Re: Chamber Flyer
I often find that rather than giving a definition of what a VA is, it's more effective to give a description of what I do in the form of a case study. I just choose a client and share how I was able to help - streamlined procedures, designed and implemented customer service programs, researched and implemented automated solutions - and how that help benefited the client, especially in terms of real $'s and/or time saved. Often prospects have an easier time finding similarities between their own circumstances and those of your case study.
I know this reply is a bit late, but I would be interested in learning what you decided to use and how it worked out.

Re: Chamber Flyer
This is some great advice. I've recently came across a similar opportunity and in the process of producing a flyer/brochure the issue of what info I should include, prices, etc. seems to be a huge question.
There are a few local networking events that I have friends who belong to and they have talked about me, what my business has to offer, etc. One great opportunity is being able to have a designated time set aside for me to discuss being a virtual assistant, services I offer, and how I can assist them and the cost savings my services bringing over hiring addintional in house staff. My question is should I show and example of the rate calculator which showes that even though it may appear they might be spending more for my services vs. less when taking into consideration of they don't have to pay emloyment/employer taxes, social security taxes, benefits, etc. My fear is that if I use a rate that I charge for one service like bookkepping (which is normally a higher rate) vs. a rate I charge for another project/service management, business coaching, marketing planning and execution, etc. I don't want a potentional client to just see that number and think wow that is just too much or on the other hand aother potentional client might see the example and get all excited only to find out that the rate for the specific service is higher that what was quoted the example comparison.
I hope I didn't ramble on too much and would love any and advice you can give me. Thanks.

Re: Chamber Flyer
I am pretty stumped as well on what to put on a flyer. But I do need to get busy on finding out what I should be saying. It's like I am so nervous I have a block up.

Re: Chamber Flyer
I would say basically give the person reading the flyer the sense that they NEED a VA, tell what you offer, how your services help them. I know when I am looking for something be it a service or an item if I can see HOW the service or item can benefit me, I tend to purchase it.
Sometimes we don't know we need a service until it's placed in our faces, so market what you do best!

Re: Chamber Flyer
I would take all suggestions in here. As a final review, just make sure the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW and WHY questions are ANSWERED!

Re: Chamber Flyer
Instead of give out the information about who I am, I prefer to let people know what benefits for them in hiring me
