Question Bumper Stickers
I have been trying to sell the idea of getting bumper stickers to my new client, to advertise his business and drive more traffic to this website. Do you know if they (bumper stickers) are very effective? I know each time I drive behind a car with a vanity tag or bumper sticker, I try to figure out what the message is about and will often times go and check out the website that's listed. Another question: what can I do to drive traffic to his website without spending too much money on online advertising?

Thanks,
Andrea Bush

Hi Andrea, do a take a look at SEO, Search Engine Optimization on this forum. Have your thought about car door magnet signs instead of bumper stickers.

There are also many ideas to market yourself and your client on this forum, I know one VA who tweets about her clients.

Cheers!!

Hi Andrea, we have been talking about having one of those 'clings' made for the back window of our car - I think I'd rather use something that I can remove if need be and bumper stickers are so small... Even a car door magnet I think would be better in terms of impact than a sticker.

Bernice is right - do check out the SEO section for ideas to increase his organic traffic. Otherwise, all of the usual things apply in terms of creating great, dynamic content on his site. Does he blog?

Hi Andrea

I agree with both Tess and Bernice about not using bumper stickers. I have a vehicle that I can have airbrushed with my company logo and information. I have been contemplating it and will make a decision soon on that. But, like a bumper sticker it is permanent too so that is why I am still thinking about it grr..

Good luck~
Andrea

I would opt to go with car door magnets instead of bumper stickers. Vistaprint is offering one right now for free too, so you can't beat that

Definately, though, look into SEO techniques, there's quite a bit that you can do to optimize his website and have more traffic routed there.

I would go with car magnets. I got mine from Vista Print, one each side of the van and a small one on the back. The only problem I had with them is that they go best on a flat surface and most of today's vehicles have slightly rounded sides. After a little while the top edge started to crinkle. Looked ok from a distance but it irritated me so I cut the top few inches off leaving just the company name, one line of text and the website URL. White text on a black background on a navy-almost-black van looks stunning and is much more eye-catching than before.

One note about air brushing - it's permanent and your insurance may go up as it's then classified as a commercial vehicle.

Wow, Andrea, cool idea. I always notice those cars! If you do it, you must post photos!

Thanks, ladies for all the great ideas and suggestions! Actually, I was thinking about a magnetic bumper sticker that you can take off or transfer to another car, etc (not an adhesive/permanent one). But I will look into the door magnets at Vistaprint. I can always count on getting some great answers from this forum! Thanks again!

Andrea
