Cute idea Christine, but if I were doing this program, I would pay out the 25% at the end of the 6 months. What if the referred client bails after the 2nd or 3rd month?

I mention in the release that it must be consecutive months, in other words, if they bail after 2 months, the referrer gets paid for 2 months and then nothing. Even if client comes back later, referrer only gets paid for the original 2 months because the time isn't consecutive.

Also, it says, referrer gets the 25% based on each paid invoice, client doesn't pay- referrer doesn't get paid.

I made sure to cover all bases

Sorry misread it. Hope it goes well for you. I'm not sure I'd want to give away 25% of my income though.

I've had a few people send referrals but the referrals didn't sign on.
I haven't promoted this in awhile so I am making sure to add it to my new newsletter and am working on submitting to various places on the web.

Oddly, it worked, yet it didn't work.

I got tons of hits to my site because of it. Had a few people contact me and mention it but not follow through.
Others, would email about how I was "crazy" or "creative".

In the end, I acquired 2 new clients in December who stumbled across the PR and came to my site. Until then, they hadn't realized they needed someone like me, contacted me and signed contracts in January.
Funny part, the 2 clients actually know each other and work together in London (I'm in NY).
I also have the promise from client #2 that she is referring me to all of her clients who will definitely need me in the near future. I'm going to be one busy female by the end of the year. I already have 4 employees lined up for when I need the (physical) help.
Because they didn't sign contract till Jan they weren't eligible for the deal (although both mentioned they didn't care) but I plan on rewarding them both whenever a new client comes through them, just haven't decided how yet.

So even thought it didn't work as I planned, I think it worked very well. I got attention to my company & site and those who need me, found me.
