Re: Submitting a press release...E-mail or Snail Mail?
I would suggest emailing to local media, not using attachments. Many email program strip out the attachments. I would then follow up local media with a phone call to see if they received the release. If not, follow up with a fax and then a phone call to see if the information was received.
Another tip that I often share is to develop a relationship with local reporters to become the 'go to' person. So if you get the release printed, follow up with a phone offering any information that might substantiate a future story. Then call once a month to see if the reporter needs any help and ask, "How can I help you?" So if they need a quote about business, virtual assistance, small business, entrepreneurs, etc., you may be quoted frequently.
