Hi all,

This is my first press release and I am not a good writer. For some reason I have a hard time expressing things in writing. With that said, this is what i've come up with. Do you think I need to work on it a little more? It seems like it's missing something. Like it doesn't have that reach out and grab your attention. What do you think? thanks for your help.

I would move the info about the company up in the release. After all, that's what the release is about. Move the information about yourself to the bottom.

Also, don't forget to add contact information and website info in. A quote from you is always a nice touch, too.

I think you've made a good start on your press release - although I think you're right about it not 'grabbing' you. You want to be careful that your release doesn't read too much like an advertisement for you business, rather you want to write about a topic of interest, where your business ties in.

Remember that most journalists only glance at the first few lines of a press release before deciding to read on. A catchy heading is a must - eg "Small Businesses reach out to Virtual Assistance" In your first heading write about how businesses are using VA's then use your business as an example - provide a few quotes from yourself too as journalists often like to use these in their articles. Also, try to do a seperate press release with a local spin on it to send to your local media.
