Our own PR - the first!
In an effort at getting a bit more publicity for the forums, particularly for the brand new job board where we're encouraging professionals looking to hire VA's to post their own featured job listings for free, we've just written up and scheduled our first press release.
Because everyone has been so keen on the free distribution services, and we've only ever used the paid options, we thought we'd give the free ones a try!
Will let you know how it all pans out - and hopefully, it will be to the benefit of the forum members with many featured jobs listed soon!

Thanks to Virtual Assistants there are finally enough hours in the day!

-
Business owners find a solution to the problem of 'not enough hours in the day' by outsourcing daily business tasks to qualified professional Virtual Assistants.
-

Overworked executives, business owners, and entrepreneurs the world over dream of a day they will be free of the endless paperwork, research, marketing, and communications minutiae of the business day to focus on the more important aspects of their trade and life in general. Their collective sigh of, ‘There just aren’t enough hours in the day…’ is now being answered in earnest by the Virtual Assistant industry.

With the advent of the professional Virtual Assistant, small and large business owners alike can now literally double the workday without actually having to spend more of their precious personal time in the process. Businesses of all sizes and across all industries have found an immediate, affordable solution to the problem of time management and the stress that accompanies long hours by outsourcing daily business tasks to a Virtual Assistant.

Members of the brand new Virtual Assistant Forums at www.virtualassistantforums.com are pleased to announce the free VA Job Board where those same overworked executives, business owners, and entrepreneurs are invited to post requests for virtual services and locate that virtually perfect match to help them manage their own business needs.
###

About the Virtual Assistant Forums:
The forums are a place for VA’s to find and network with other professional Virtual Assistants interested in supporting each other through the sharing of information and experience. The forums also feature an industry blogs section where users can browse the latest posts from the best virtual assistance, marketing, and small business blogs; an industry news section with links to the latest news headlines from the Virtual Assistance industry; and many more useful resources for new and experienced Virtual Assistants.

Thanks ladies
Oddly enough, I haven't seen it on the search engines yet. Although Agnes, I know when you sent out a free release it did show up on Google...any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Not that Google is the be all and end all of results - OK, yes, it is I guess because Google news feeds are indexed by millions of websites it was important to me that I find a free service that indexed on Google - as a direct result we even have a few new members so I am very pleased with the results.

So the four services I experimented with this time were:
PRLog - this was the easiest of all three I tried, and hyperlinks in the text of your release are FREE
PR.com
MediaSyndicate
PR9 (the only thing I didn't like about this one was they required my name and it's published along with my release - that might not seem like a big deal but I'm more interested in developing the forums as an entity/persona of their own without attachment to *me* at all; otherwise, great service)
