Opinions, suggestions, please?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Contact: Lily E. Chambers, CPS
Company Name: The Virtual Office Goddess, LLC
Web site address: www.VirtualOfficeGoddess.com
The Virtual Office Goddess wants to help your small business grow!
Boulder, CO 10/05/07 — The Virtual Office Goddess, LLC is a virtual assistant company offering bookkeeping and office support services online throughout the internet community.
The Virtual Office Goddess, LLC is owned and operated by Lily E. Chambers, CPS, offering nearly 3 decades of experience in the legal (criminal and immigration), water engineering, funeral service, property valuation, landscaping, water/oilfield pipe and supply, manufacturing, food service, hospitality, and retail industries.
Ms. Chambers holds a Certified Professional Secretary designation through the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), is working on her Certified QuickBooks User designation through Intuit and is a pending member of the Virtual Assistant Network Association and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The Virtual Office Goddess is currently working with a non-profit horse rescue service located in Longmont, CO whose trustee, Nancy Cebula, offers this glowing testimonial of the efforts on their behalf:
"The Virtual Office Goddess was able to take a folder full of invoices, receipts, check copies and other financial documents and turn them into a well organized, fiscally sound set of profit and loss statements in a relatively short period of time. As a volunteer and Trustee with the Knick O’Time Horse Rescue, I was focused on care of the horses, fundraising, and thank you notes to our donors. As a result, I had not been able to keep up with all of the bookkeeping chores in the back office and was woefully behind. Lily not only cleaned it all up, she created procedures and forms for us to use so that our books will be up to the same standard of professionalism and timeliness as our stable management!"
For a limited time, The Virtual Office Goddess is offering a 10% discount off of the first 15 hours of service to new clients. In addition, The Virtual Office Goddess has available two free brochures, “LLC Basics” and “Small Business Tax Deductions.” Go to www.virtualofficegoddess.com and complete the contact form to schedule an appointment or to receive these brochures.

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
Hi Lily,
I would suggest more focus on what's complete for you already (maybe announce the 'pending' things once they're finished...), and narrow your industry/niche - that's a long list! . Also, I'd suggest focusing the release on a central theme. Right now I'm not sure what it's about exactly - I mean, I know it's about your biz...but what's the angle?
Much of the info you provided would go in automatically at the bottom in the 'About Virtual Office Goddess' section - after the main press release copy. I'd rewrite and wrap up any currently applicable certificates, experience, awards etc. there as opposed to listing them in the main body.
Your recent batch of marketing postcards had a really neat approach with a great tagline - what about building something off of that, focus more on your services, particularly the bookkeeping, maintain that energy from the postcard referencing 'shoeboxes of paperwork under the bed', and then note the discounted rate?
One little point on narrowing the niche: I read a great quote from an Oprah transcript where a successful female entrepreneur said 'When you narrow the channel, you strengthen the stream' - she was applying the analogy, which references the natural world, to business - toward narrowing market focus.

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
Thanks for the advice. I'll work on making changes and tightening up. The only problem with nicheing is that I'm really looking for solo and 2-person offices and don't know how to put that down. I would like to find several small companies that I can grow with...
I'm thinking I should maybe change the whole concept and just do a press release when I complete the QB training and have that be the whole press release. Thoughts?

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
I think you can really do *both*, actually!
That's a good phrase you wrote, use it!
'Virtual Office Goddess looks forward to growing with exceptional small companies and solopreneurs."
Give it another shot, I know you've got it in you

I think this is great. It expresses what you want to do, who you want to services and it tracks new cliente. Short and to the point.

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
Looks good Lily!! Do you have a specific industry that you are targeting for bookkeeping, and if so have you looked into a forum that they might frequent where you could also post this? I know you mentioned the horse rescue client a few times.
I'm in the process of taking the same course. I've been using quickbooks forever but never thought of becoming certified before, so its fun, and I'm learing a few new things at the same time

I mostly market to entrepreneurs and start-ups in my area. I have joined 4 meet-up and 2 Ask! groups and try to go to their networking meetings.
Yep - I learned alot, too!

Lilly - I was wondering if you would share how you found the the meet up and ask groups. Of course, still expanding my wings to find clients.

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
Meetup.com was my "jump-off" point. i also just googled "networking in boulder" to look for groups. I attended 2 networking groups and was highly disappointed. I won't pay a membership fee, either. I don't mind paying meeting fees, though.

Re: Opinions, suggestions, please?
I'd also looked into starting or joining a meetup (via meetup.com) it's a great concept and offers a 'live version' of a support forum-which seems especially important considering we all work virtually...so important to hold onto that human element
