That's right, you did say that. I have a similar issue but luckily my corporate office is in Iowa. I only work with one other person locally and she is informed, so I have no worries. But I have to be careful of what I put on the internet.

Hi this has nothing to do with press releases, but I don't know where else to ask this information. Has anyone ever had any association with either sohojobs.com or virtualassistantjobs.com? I have seen a few jobs posted that I would be interested in, but am unsure about either site. Any and all suggestions would be appriciated.

I had a membership to sohojobs.com for a bit. Never got a job from them. On top of that my login info was terminated twice although my subscription was active and paid; never did find out why. In the end, I terminated my subscription. Most of the jobs are customer service call center types.

Virtualassistantjobs.com requires you to be signed up with sohojob.com. Never got work from them either. Unless you want to work in the call center area, you might just want to look elsewhere.

I'm curious, did you ever decide to submit your press release? I am going to be starting mine and I too am employed and cringed at the idea of my employer or co-workers running across the information. Not sure if you finally pressed "send" or if it's still sitting in your "draft" box. If so, any feedback from any of them?

For those of you who don't know I beleive sohojobs.com is affilated with Team Double Click so don't waste your time....lol I went on there site and all the job postings stated you must be interviewed by Team Double Click. That is a big waste of time! They're terrible reputation is not worth the frustration. Just my two cents.

Hi Carmen,

It's still sitting in my draft box. I wouldn't be as worried about it if I didn't work full-time for a marketing communications firm with Public Relations coworkers who regularly scoure PR sites for info. I think they'd be much more likely than the average Joe to find my release. I'm friendly with all of them, so it's not like I think they'd rat me out to the big bosses, but I just don't want to put anyone in the position to have to keep my secret. On the other hand, I've been getting my name out there on all kinds of networking sites, including LinkedIn, which my boss, some coworkers, and several of my employer's clients are members of, so I guess I'm already taking the risk that someone will find me. Might as well go all out, right?

It's a catch-22; you want to broadcast your business to the world so you can get new business and quit your J O B, but you have to somehow keep your employer from finding out. It's definitely not easy!
