Thumbsup Call from press release.
I have had one call so far this morning from my press release. Although she was looking for someone in house as opposed to virtual she said she would keep me in mind and would refer anyone she thought of.In all, the call went quite well.

Well congrats Serita! The more people who are aware of who you are and what you do the better And you never know, the PC could get back in touch once the concept of 'virtual' sinks in.

Serita,

For as much as I thought I could handle client consultation calls, initially, I made a few blunders; said things I should not have; could have marketed myself better verbally; not being as prepared as I would have liked on a call, etc. So I look at the types of calls you described as a good way to practice the pitch.

I'd like to make a suggestion...that if you have not done this already...maybe you could send the caller a nice thank you note (hand written is always more personal, IMO) with a brochure and a business card thanking her for her time. I don't know if you have something in place, but perhaps a 10% off her next bill (even though she needed an in-house she might rethink some virtual work with a discount coupon). Or, if she sends you a referral, perhaps you can offer her a discount off her next bill.

Sounds like things are progressing nicely for you. So pleased to know this.

Janine

Thank you Janine. I think that's a great idea. I am saving my thank you mail outs for on Fridays. I want to do as much as I can by routine, so if I keep my four mornings my son is in school for making and receiving calls, afternoons for finishing projects, and Fridays for my own marketing and correspondence, I should have a very workable routine I hadn't thought about sending thank you cards out for those that make initial inquiries, but I like that alot.

Congratulations! I too, think a hand-written follow-up is a great idea. With everything being done "virtual", it's great to find opportunities to reach out in a more personal way.

I have some really nice thank you notes to send out, I'm just wondering if I should use those like I had planned, or if I should print out blank ones with my logo on the front and handwritten message on the inside. What do you girls think?

Good News Serita! I agree with Tess that the PC might just be interested when she has time to digest the information. And you never know how many contacts she may have.

I also agree with the idea of a thank you note. People really do appreciate these.

Good luck!

Sylvia

I'm planning on sending her some business cards and my small business flyer. Hopefully it will bring in some referrals. I'm also going to include 4 coupons for 10% off with a referral. Hopefully this will lead to some referrals from her and some of her business as well.

Serita...yea! Maybe you should offer to write press releases for her, since yours at least generated a party interested enough to call. Keep it up.
