Default Work Status Reports for Clients
Hi,
Does anybody take the time to provide their clients with weekly status reports to update them on the progress of the assignments they're working on? If so, do you have a format or form that you use to provide this report to them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I communicate with my clients almost daily, so they already know where I am with their projects. I do keep an excel file with each of their businesses, if they want a break down of time spent, I will send that to them (I havent had to send it out yet).

For ongoing bigger projects I have sent out a weekly summary in a simple bullet style email.

For one of my marketing clients, we stopped doing the above because she only wanted me to report results so she could see where we were getting with marketing her products.

It really varies and I think clients appreciate the weekly summaries at first, but once we have earned their trust, then they just want to know results and when projects are completed.

I like giving my clients a summary because it keeps me accountable and allows me to show them how they are spending their money, but recently realized that the summary may not be as important to my clients as it is to me. I also do not charge them for my time that I spend on my summaries because I consider it a service and part of my administration for my business.

Just my humble opinion though,
Theresa

I have one client that I provide a weekly summary to, but it is more for me, than for him. As Theresa stated, it keeps me accountable and allows me to keep the information I track in one convenient location. I use an excel spreadsheet to keep track of the calls I make and the results.
