If you've been in business for longer than say three years, what would the top three to five policies and/or procedures would you think are things every VA should consider and probably put into place with their new venture?

Bump!!! I would love to know the answer to this question and see the feedback on this thread - I have not formally been in business this long by company name. I have freelanced for years but that again falls into different factors - where my contract is really all I needed. -- looking forward to the comments on this thread!

I'm very new and I looked here because I hoped to find some great information. I am surprised to discover that the thread is over 1.50 years old and there's no helpful infomation here. I would be very interested in knowing things such as hours of availability to clients, policies regarding payment requirements, etc. I would have thought for sure that these would be in the top 3-5. Does anyone have any more information relating to this thread?

Check the documents library when you have posted 25 posts and you will find several great options you can use to modify for your own business.

While many policies and procedures are similar amongst VAs in the industry such as taking a deposit, charging a late payment fee and signing a contract, some policies vary. Some VAs work weekends, other do not. Some VAs charge for a rush fee, some do not. Some VAs work evenings others do not. So you can make your own policies..that's the joy of being your own boss!
