I came across this great worksheet for those who work on a project basis. It's geared towards web development, but it covers pretty well all of the areas including those we don't think about working into our quote because we look at them as something that isn't billable when in fact it should be considered.

My opinion is that if it's to do with a client, potential or current, it should be considered billable time and worked into the quote - this now helps me stay clear on what I need to do for the quote.

Super worksheet, Renee. It got my old brain cogs moving with ideas to create my own interactive worksheet.

You can also edit this online 'estimator' on the web page and add/change to your own task descriptions and default rate, which is pretty darn cool. (Just hover over an area and the lil edit buttons will appear.)
