Question Does anyone use the PayPay Email invoicing?
I still have not had a paying client, but I'm preparing myself for that beautiful day. I was wondering if anyone used PayPal's Email invoicing option to send clients their invoice. It seems really great, because then all the client needs to do is follow instructions right there in their Email. I did take a look at the sample invoice and it may get a little tricky especially if you charge transcription services per minute, proofing per page, etc. It just seems that receiving an Email and being able to click right then and there to pay would make things very simple. Does anyone do this?

No, I don't use their invoicing - I did look into it but found it too limiting. I send my own invoices via email and then a PayPal request.

But you could always go to the 'Merchant Services' tab in your PayPal account and create a Buy Now link for your invoice total, and then include that in your email / invoice to your client.

Hope that helps!

I am still in the process of looking at different invoicing options and have not actually decided on one yet. Like you, I will take any suggestion into consideration!

Tess, that sounds like a better idea than the PayPal invoicing. I agree, the PayPal Email invoice is very limiting. I'm going to look into the method you mentioned (Merchant Services). I like the idea of a client having a quick and easy method of paying. I'm sure it helps on both ends . Thank you for your advice!

One of the reasons I love and use Freshbooks is for this reason. It's really easy to integrate the option to make a payment via Paypal. Many of the invoicing programs out there have now started to integrate with Paypal which means that you no longer have to worry about providing a Paypal request for a client.

When I send an invoice via Freshbooks a button is available right there when I client logs in to access their invoice.

Hi..I use the PayPal invoicing and find it easy, easy to track and love the reminders...takes the pressure off of me reminding them that their payment is late!

I attempted to use PayPals services for a while but I had a few not so tech savvy clients that got confused and it became very messy. I then turned to Quick books, which while it was through, I didn't really need anything THAT through, simply put I wanted something simpler. Then I switched to freshbooks and I LOVE it. I use Basecamp as well and it integrates with it (not as well as I would like mind you). But it makes producing an invoice super easy and then paying for it is super easy for my clients, no matter how tech-tarded they might be.

I was going to go the Paypal route but with everyone talking up Freshbooks I will go research and maybe go that route instead.
