I did some work for a client but it turned out to be a whole recruitment ans selection thing. I am used to PA/VA but this is totally new. How do I bill for my time, calls made, advert in paper. Also time devising tests and interview questions. Do i add a labour rate on top. Any help would be great

My clients have not had any problems paying me hourly. I am always honest about the hours that I worked. I log the time of each call, beginning and end. I use a time tracking device which logs my hours as I work. I guess you could also charge a flat rate fee or a per call fee. Speak to your client to see what they would be most comfortable with.
