Default What e-mail client do you use?
Hi All,

Just curious about the e-mail client that you use. I use bluetie (www.bluetie.com). It's a web-based e-mail client that's pretty cool. I was also speaking with a potential client and he uses WebOffice (www.weboffice.com). Both of these software applications are web-based and ideal for people working remotely.

I use Outlook for my email - if I am away from my home office, I use my web hosting company's web mail feature to check mail - if I have to reply to something urgently, I reply via web mail and bcc myself so that I have a record of it in my Outlook.

I'm on Windows Mail now that I've switched to a new comp with Vista - but when I don't have my laptop at hand and need to check email I use www.mail2web.com (it's great because it also deletes email directly from the server!)
The other laptops are both on Outlook Express. (We still haven't gotten around to getting a Mac yet but I'll try Thunderbird on that.)

I hadn't heard of Bluetie, thanks for the link!

I use Outlook with the Business Contact Manager. I'm going to have a look into bluetie.com that you mentioned Tess. Interesting!

Cheers,
Pam

I'm using hotmail as it is the email server that comes with my website. I've had a personal hotmail account for years also and have never had a problem. I also use Outlook Contact Manager and send out mailings from Outlook via my hotmail account because it's easier to do it through Outlook.

One of the advantages of using bluetie over e-mail clients like Hotmail and Yahoo (not sure about Gmail and Outlook) is that they allow you to the ability to have an e-mail address with your domain name included. I think hosting companies also offer that option, but that, in addition to the other great features that BlueTie offers, makes it a really great application for small businesses.

Outlook, and Windows Mail, are desktop based email applications so it's a matter of entering the SMTP info and these kinds of programs can send and receive from virtually any email account. Bluetie sounds like a neat program though - and appears to have lots more going on than just email - how much do you pay each month for use (or is it free at a certain level?)

My email address also uses my domain name. My website is through Microsoft Office Live and hotmail is a Microsoft product so that is the web-based email server they use.

My website is hosted by GoDaddy and my email is also through my domain name. I go online to pick up my email rather than downloading it to outlook 'cuz I pick up my mail from 3 different computers.
