Smile Re: Virtual PBX
Hi, I use a virtual PBX built by my husband for business. The Virtual PBX is a system working from an appliance/box connected at home and another in my office which has the following features:
- Unlimited Extensions
- TDM/SIP/IAX Trunks
- Remote Extensions
- Voicemail
- Fax Support
- Voicemail to Email
- IVR Menu System
- Ring Groups
- Call Queues
- Conference Rooms
- Follow-Me - this is a great feature because it hunts me wherever I am including my mobile phone and if I am unavailable it simply records voicemail and turns it into a Wave file format and is routed to my Outlook inbox ready to be played through Windows Media player on my computer or PDA which has push email enabled.
- Time-Based Routing
- Music On Hold
- Paging and Intercom
- Web Access to Voicemail
- Admin Status Screen
- Package Manager (for easy updates)
- Phone Provisioning Tool
- Network Settings Tool
- Enhanced CDR Reports
- Echo Cancellation

We use a Cisco IP Phone 7940 series at home and in my office plugged into an ethernet and broadband connection.

This system allows me to work remotely either from home or from my office about 8 miles down the road. It replaces a normal phone system and provides the capablity for remote workers - if you have a team working with you.

Should you require more technical details, please do not hesitate to contact me offline.

I have used both RingCentral and Gotvmail (now Grasshopper). Ring Central offer more features than Gotvmail. I now use the free phone through my gmail account. It allows me to send texts, I can have my calls forwarded to my cell. I like it.

I also have RingCentral and love it. I have unlimited minutes so I don't need to worry about staying in check. I hate having to wonder if a phone call will send me over my minutes, that's why I also have Sprint as my cell phone provider actually.

I have never had an issue with RingCentral, and the cost is very reasonable in my opinion. I opted to have a phone line from the start, I didn't want to private cell number to be available 24/7. RingCentral allows me to forward my number to my cell and even call out from it and have my office number show up on the caller id that is a huge benefit for me.

I use evoice and have been very happy with it, but may need to look at these others.
