Friends have used Magic Jack for quite some time now, and they love it! Personally, I am not able to use it because my main computer is running the Ubuntu operating system rather than the standard Windows. Bummer!

Magic Jack is great. The call quality (inbound and outbound) is excellent. The cost in extremely low AND for $70 - you don't have to pay a phone bill for 5 years.

I tried Magic Jack (MJ) last week and returned it right away. I bought it at Best Buy (had coupons & gift card so $0) and placed it on an old computer that I planned to leave on all the time. I had to buy a wireless adaptor ($50) as my old computer was not wireless ready. The MJ unit wouldn't connect because my old computer didn't have the MS Svc Pack 2 so had to install that. The reason it didn't have MS Svc Pack 2 is that I restored the computer to its original format to donate it when I bought a new laptop.

This took 2 hours of chatting with the MJ agents. Then, after all that, the call quality was crackly when I did a few test calls. I returned the items and am going with AT&T VoIP as I want my business calls to be reliable and clear.

I don't want to negative, but I do want to be honest. I am sure MJ works just fine for some people. I just chose not to go with it for me.

I love the Magic Jack! I've had it even before establishing my VA business. I currently keep my regular phone, for personal calls, and keep the magic strictly for business. It's a great idea for either personal or business or both and it saves you a lot of money. Eventually I will convert to just the magic jack. The disadvantage is if your internet is down, so is the magic jack. I don't like keeping my internet on over night, so it works good for business, because when I'm on the internet, I'm on line with Magic Jack during my business hours.

I have been using magic jack for about a year now. It is completely portable. As long as there is a USB connection, you are in business. Great for travling! I absolutley love it. Within the past year, I have experienced one instance of interference. Not sure what caused it, but it discontinued as quickly as it began, and I have never had any other problems. I highly recommend it!

I bought MagicJack about 1-1/2 years ago. When it worked, the quality was great. But sometimes it didn't work. Since we need our business phone to always work, we sent it back before 30 days and got our money back.

I've been curious to see if they've improved any. Apparently Ivette is having good success with it.

I have a Majic Jack, purchased it about a year now. I am amazed at how it works, awesome. I didn't get rid of my landline, need it just in case we have another big black out. During the last blackout in NYC, the only thing that worked in my home was my landline. I went online with my laptop and found out about the black out up and down the eastern seaboard. Or forget about cellphone they were dead also.
