Ringcentral- Be sure to read trick at the end
Hi all,
I've been using Ringcentral, off and on, for over 3 years now with various clients.
I had never investigated their pricing, etc. as I had no need for a number or fax line.
Well, I decided it was time to get an 800# for my business. Their pricing and services are the best combination I have found. The number also provides the ability to send and receive faxes.
You download a "call center" program to your desktop and you can either have the calls forwarded to your home #, without the customer knowing, or you can send it to voicemail. You can also choose Do Not Disturb and it will send all calls to voicemail for you.
You can customize all your greetings. You can have several extensions, which come in handy if you are a Multi-VA practice.

And now the best part-
I found out a little trick though when signing up. I was hesitant to sign up until next month when I would have the funds to pay for the full year. I noticed they gave a free 7-day trial. 7 Days wasn't long enough but I started the sign-up process just to see what was involved.
I closed out of the site before adding my credit card info and figured I'd go back in April to sign up.
The next day I got an email from them offering me a free 30-day trial instead. I thought "cool that would take me into April" but then I looked at the calendar and realized I would not have the funds available for a couple days passed the 30 so I decided to wait. Last thing I need is a charge going to my account before the money has cleared.
Lo and behold, the next day I received an email offering me the 30-days with no credit card info needed. Woohoo! I waited 2 more days and then clicked the link, it still worked.
So now I have my 800# that is phone and fax and I will have the funds available just in time to upgrade before my 30 days runs out.

Sorry for going on and on but I wanted to be sure anyone who was looking for something like this got in on the deal.

Very cool deal Christina!

I just signed up for RingCentral myself, while I didn't have the same good luck with signing up as you did, I am so far happy with my decision. Now I am just waiting for an SIP Adapter I ordered on ebay (from Hong Kong...don't ask...long story)so that I can use a multi-line phone so I can take full advantage of the virtual PBX system.

Isn't cool to have an 800#???

Very timely post Christina!

I just signed up for RingCentral last night, although I gave my credit card information already, based on the information you gave, I'm thinking that if I cancel the service before my 7 days are completed, then I would get the email with the 30 days extended time .

Has anyone ever done it this way? I'm dying to find out...

Thanks for the info Christina

Cool! Thanks for the info.

This has happpened to me before, only with GoDaddy.com. I was looking at adding a new web domain to my package but clicked out before completing the order. The next day, I got an email offering something like 10 or 20% off if I completed my order. So while it wasn't a free month, it was still pretty darn cool!

I just signed up with RingCentral too, complete with free faxing! I was able to get a vanity number on top of it! I ended up stripping my land line and with it went the local and long distance. Now that line is strictly for my DSL and I still have the ability to receive and make local calls if needed for five cents a call. I have a VOIP and a cell phone so there really wasn't a need to have all these phones! The best thing is the price! I am saving over $60.00 per month for stripping my land line and I am only paying $9.99 per month for my fax and 800 number! It's a good deal, espcially as a business write off!

I was just thinking the same thing Kylie - there are so many great things I learn about on the Forum just to realise we can't get them in Australia. Time to get serious and start petitioning some of these providers to move with the times! I just love it Christina that all this happened, just because you were trying to organise your budget - it all landed perfectly! Thanks for sharing!

I feel so ripped off but happy at the same time that these services are out thereut: but ripped off again that we can't access them.

We should get a partition together. In the meantime, I've installed a software based PABX system that uses VoIP to allow me to have multiple VoIP lines, extensions and multiple voicemail boxes. I've managed to cut my monthly phone bills down by $450 (because all my clients until the last few weeks have been interstate and international) so I'm happy for now.

Thank you Christina .... the trick you shared worked!

I started an order Thursday evening and simply stopped at the credit card entry point. I was a little worried that I would lose my number I chose so I just left the window open. A couple of hours later I checked my e-mail before going to bed and surprise, there was an e-mail from RingCentral offering a 30 day trial period.

Friday morning, I clicked the link in the e-mail to complete the order and my number was still there. An even bigger PLUS, they are offering for a limited time, 100 free roll-over minutes which are good for 12 months.

Thanks again for sharing your trick!
