Question about Skype, myfax, etc
Ok, so this is a question about one of these services in particular, but more general. I already have a toll free number (am not too sure I particularly like their quality of service though), and I was wondering if this number could be used when I sign up for things like Skype, MyFax or other services similar to that? Or do they make you get a new number when you sign up for their service? If I am not going to need it, I'm going to transfer it to the person who just bought my other business.

Re: Question about Skype, myfax, etc
I don't know about using an existing number w/ MyFax - but with Skype you choose from the numbers they have available (you can choose area code and combination).

Re: Question about Skype, myfax, etc
Hi I checked on the myfax web site which says:
Can I keep my current fax number?
Yes. Call-forward your existing fax number(s) to your new MyFax number or in certain circumstances, you can have your existing fax number ported to MyFax. Please contact Sales for more information.
Toll Free: 1 (866) 378-2373
International: 1 (613) 733-0000 x 1
Email: sales@myfax.com

Re: Question about Skype, myfax, etc
Thanks so much for following up with that Maria - I was just logging back in here to add something to my comment about Skype which is that you *can* set a call-forward to or from a Skype number (I suppose you would just have to pay whatever fees, if any, are associated with doing that) so you could potentially keep your 1-800 number.

Re: Question about Skype, myfax, etc
Thank you! I guess I will look more into what the fees would be with forwarding compared with just getting the numbers through the service.
