I am looking into different phone options. For our home phone, unlimited long distance, and internet, we are paying about $90 a month. Then the cell phone is about $30 a month. I'm looking into getting everything set up with Skype so that I can use that for business and possibly cutting off our long distance and just using skype for that as well. But I really want to find a better cell phone option. We don't really use it much, most of the time. But we are going to have to add at least one more soon. If anyone would like to share their experiences and more affordable options you have found, I would appreciate it.

We use Skype for *everythng* now and gave up our cel ages ago...it's just a totally unnecessary additional expense. I don't need to be reachable 24/7!
So, for us, just getting rid of the cel was a huge cost savings each month.

My cell phone is $60 a month and that is only a basic plan, so I wouldn't consider $30 that bad at all. If you really need the cell phone and if you only use it for emergencies and on a rare occasion another option is a Tracfone where you purchase the minutes as needed, no contracts involved. It worked very well for me for years when I never used the cell unless the kids needed to reach me and I wasn't at home.

I have never owned a cellphone, ain't that crazy? And now that I'm working at home, there's even less need for it. However, because of this, I'm utterly ignorant of mobile technology, which needs to be corrected if I'm to be an ace VA!
