Majic Jack?
Has anyone every used Majic Jack? If so, what are your comments? It's sort of like skype but for a onetime yearly fee of $20 you get unlimited called. What does anyone think?
Thanks
Lisa

Re: Majic Jack?
Hi Lisa,
and to answer your question, we have had several threads about MagicJack and other phone alternatives.
You can read more here and here and here and here. The forum has a great search function, chances are you'll find lots of information that way and can always find out if a question has been asked before.
Good luck!

Re: Majic Jack?
Lisa, I'm curious about this product, too, and thought the threads Kate mentions talks about it, there's not much about actual use of Magic Jack. So if anyone is currently using one, let us know how it is! (Hard to believe, for so cheap, it really works all that well.)

Re: Majic Jack?
I purchased two majicjacks and have been using them for about two months now. I love them. I just wanted to see if anyone has had problems with thiers. I have not and I'm waiting for the shoe to drop. Everything they have said in the infomercial is true. I use my landline phone, calls are crystal clear, no static, no echoes, and billed correctly.
I would recommend the majicjack for those that want to add phone service to your roster. At $20 per year, it will pay for itself in one week. Buy several, plug it in when the client needs you, unplug it when your done.
Anyways, hope this helps someone.
Lisa

Re: Majic Jack?
I have a Magic Jack and have had one since November 07. The sound quality is actually quite good. I would however recommend using it on a PC that has at least 2 gigs of RAM. Before upgrading to 2 gigs (previously 1 gig) I would hear a horrible echo which wasn't audible to the person on the other end. Just to me. The only caveat is that you need to have the PC on in order to make and receive calls, but you are provided with voicemail.
I do highly recommend the product.

Re: Majic Jack?
I just had a potential client mention this to me. I need to read more about its functionality. Bascially, a business owner wants me to answer their phones while they are away. I'm assuming this product makes it so you know who's calling you etc. I'm still toying with the idea of being "chained to my desk" by offering phone services.

Re: Majic Jack?
I also have had a request on answering calls. I may be leaning away from "being chained to my desk" and more to forwardig their number to my phone, which is my cell. Of course then I have to be able to take notes away from my desk when I answer the call....sigh...maybe I'll just say "no".

Re: Majic Jack?
Well one way that I have overcome this request in the pass is to tell them that I would check their vmail and respond to them hourly or every other hour.
